Tottenham Hotspur fans had a great last week, as Roberto De Zerbi’s side registered back-to-back wins in the Premier League.
Spurs registered their first league win by beating Coventry City 3-1, before stunning Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. The midfield and attack are starting to click into gear, but there is a long way to go before this Tottenham team can be termed as complete. More reinforcements in attack are certainly needed, and the North London club are keeping tabs on a former Premier League flop.
Carlos Forbs has rebuilt his career with Club Brugge after a disastrous spell at Wolves. He spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Wolves from Ajax and was a part of the side that got relegated from the Premier League. The winger had very little impact, failing to score or provide an assist in 11 games for the Black County outfit.
Ajax sold Carlos Forbs to Club Brugge last year, and the 22-year-old enjoyed a strong debut season in Belgium that yielded 10 goals in 48 games. The one-cap Portugal international has started the new campaign strongly, registering seven assists in 12 games already. The speedy winger’s performances haven’t unsurprisingly gone unnoticed across Europe.
According to Italian outlet ASRomaLive, Tottenham are one of the clubs monitoring Forbs’ performances. Manchester United and AS Roma are also interested in the player.

Forbs has formed a deadly partnership with highly coveted striker Nicolas Tresoldi at Club Brugge. The two recently combined in Brugge’s 3-2 win over Sint Truiden, with Tresoldi scoring a hat-trick. Forbs provided two assists, just over a week since he did the same against Inter in Milan in the Champions League.
A right-winger by trade, the Portuguese has caught the eye with his pace, directness, dribbling and unpredictability. He excels in 1v1 situations, can deliver pinpoint crosses in the box, supply through balls and chip in with valuable goals.
Spurs spent big to sign Savio from Manchester City in the summer, bolstering their wide areas in the process. De Zerbi already had Mohammed Kudus in his ranks, while Dejan Kulusevski returned to action finally last week after 18 months out. With all three of them left-footed and capable of operating in wide areas and centrally as a No.10, the Lilywhites aren’t exactly in immediate need of a player with similar traits and playing style.
Forbs happens to be a player with similar characteristics, and when Tottenham are in need of a quality striker to convert chances, it is better to avoid signing the former Wolves flop in 2027.
