Chargers' Khalil Mack linked to reunion with former team before trade deadline

The Chargers' bye week has arrived, and they remain winless as the end of October nears.

Los Angeles sits at 0-6, and the year has been nothing short of a disappointment. Still, the Chargers will look to salvage what they can over their final 11 games.

The Chargers will look internally for answers, but that won't stop other teams from calling Los Angeles about potential trades ahead of the deadline.

Los Angeles has several players who could help a contender, including Khalil Mack. The veteran pass rusher could be one of the most sought-after names on the trade market and has already been linked to his former team, the Chicago Bears.

Carter Bahns of CBS Sports believes Mack to the Bears needs to happen.

"If there is one trade that is most likely to be completed by the deadline, a Khalil Mack reunion in Chicago has to be at the top of the list. The pairing almost makes too much sense. The Bears need pass-rushing help. Mack remains productive in the latter years of his career, albeit not quite at the

All-Pro level of his Chicago heyday. The Los Angeles Chargers are prime candidates to sell expiring contracts, considering their 0-6 record. Everything points to these teams working together to send Mack back to his old home."

Last week, Mack said he is focused on getting the Chargers back on track rather than trade talks.

"I'm focused on this team and what I'm doing right now. … I feel like the outside noise is the outside noise," Mack said.

If the Chargers keep losing before the Nov. 10 trade deadline, there's really no reason to keep Mack.

The Chargers believe they are a step closer to turning things around, though that may be more wishful thinking than reality.
