After months of no additional information on the John Cena Classic, John Cena made his return on this week’s episode of Raw, where he gave additional information on the John Cena Classic.
The event is set to take place on December 14 on a special episode of WWE Raw taking place at Disney World, and after announcing Cody Rhodes as the first entrant in the Classic on Raw, he would announce the first NXT star to take part on last night’s show.
Cena came to the ring and announced that Zilla Fatu would be the first confirmed NXT name in the Classic, which would serve as his first match on the main roster.
Here are some potential opponents for Zilla Fatu in the John Cena Classic.
Zilla Fatu has the obvious Bloodline connection with those on the main roster, with that likely being his ultimate destination if he makes his way up to the main roster soon.
As such, Roman may want to test Zilla against his current family members to see if he’s willing to fall in line with the rest of the group.
However, with Cody Rhodes already announced for the Classic, it is unlikely Roman Reigns himself will be part of it, as he will likely defend his title at Wrestlepalooza and be part of the Raw show in Perth the same night.
So instead of Roman himself, it could be Jacob that faces Zilla.
With the Bloodline and the 946 still locked into their rivalry, Royce Keys and his crew could look to take out Zilla ahead of his appearance in the John Cena Classic.
Royce Keys himself may still be busy with Roman Reigns next month, so sending Carmelo Hayes in his place would give Zilla a great opponent to showcase himself on the main roster stage.
Drew McIntyre has been off WWE television since WrestleMania 42 when he was defeated by Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned match.
Drew has had long standing issues with the Bloodline dating back years, so he will likely not be too pleased to see another on joining the roster.
Drew targeting Zilla to give Zilla a major name to overcome in the Classic would be an obvious choice.
