Crystal Palace are reportedly considering their managerial options after a difficult start to the Premier League season, with former Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche emerging as a potential replacement for Pierre Sage.
The Eagles’ disappointing results have increased pressure on Sage, whose side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.
With Palace struggling near the relegation zone, the club could face an important decision over whether to persist with their current manager.
According to The Telegraph, Dyche is among the leading candidates should Palace decide to part ways with Sage.
The 55-year-old has been without a managerial position since leaving Nottingham Forest in February. His experience in Premier League survival battles could appeal to Palace as they attempt to turn their season around.
Dyche previously established his reputation at Burnley, guiding the club into the Premier League and keeping them in the top flight for several seasons. He also helped Everton avoid relegation during his time at Goodison Park.
Other names have reportedly entered the conversation, including Thomas Frank and Vítor Pereira, although Palace have not officially announced a change of manager.
Sage arrived at Selhurst Park with expectations following his successful spell at Lens, but results in England have proved challenging.
The defeat against Newcastle followed a heavy loss to Brighton, leaving Palace with just two Premier League victories from their opening eight matches. Their defensive problems have been particularly concerning, with 19 goals conceded.
Despite the speculation, Sage has maintained that he believes the players and club hierarchy remain behind him. His immediate challenge is to improve results and ease fears of a relegation battle.
What this means for Crystal Palace: Dyche’s experience makes him a reported option if Palace decide to change direction. However, no appointment has been confirmed, and Sage’s future remains dependent on the club’s next decision.
