Manchester United’s injury list has impacted Michael Carrick’s managerial choices over the course of this season so far.
Injury concerns at centre-back and striker, through Matthjis de Ligt and Benjamin Sesko, have forced Carrick to play alternative players.
The squad has taken a weakening as a result of those injuries, alongside others, too, impacting the team’s abilities to gain points and results.
Tomorrow’s fixture against Bournemouth will once again test Michael Carrick’s ability to deal with injury concerns as he attempts to turn the tide of bad form.
It is not just Carrick that is having to balance injury concerns, however, with INEOS-owned outfit FC Lausanne-Sport also forced to contemplate replacements for their injured players.
Taking to their official website, the side have now confirmed that forward Levy Nene will be out for an estimated period of four weeks with a hamstring problem.
“FC Lausanne-Sport announces that its striker Levy Nene will be unavailable for an estimated period of at least four weeks,” the statement reads.
“Having suffered a hamstring injury, the Ivorian winger will need to rest before beginning a tailored rehabilitation program.
“His progress will be closely monitored by the club’s medical staff to ensure he can gradually return to action in the best possible condition.”
Nene signed for the club in the recent summer transfer window and had made a positive start to life, scoring two goals in five appearances.
His absence will force Lausanne-Sport manager Luka Elsner to consider alternative options to replace the forward.
News that the forward will miss upcoming fixtures follows Lausanne-Sport’s announcement that their fans will be banned from attending tomorrow’s fixture against FC Sion.
It remains unclear what action Elsner will take to fill in and ensure that his team is in the best shape for games.
With Nene expected to miss four weeks, Lausanne-Sport will hope that the forward can make a full recovery. His absence represents a challenge, but now it is about how the club react to that challenge.
