Fourteen-year-old Safwaan Saleem, from Reading, fought his way to second place at the WBC International Box Cup, earning the medal in the under-60kg schoolboys development category.
The tournament took place from October 23 to 25 at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury.
Mr Saleem said: "I trained hard and listened to my coaches and my dad.
"To pick up a WBC Box Cup silver medal in my first year as an amateur is amazing.
"The whole club is buzzing at the moment, and we’ve got some real talent coming through."
He represented Reading-East Amateur Boxing Club, which is newly affiliated to England Boxing, and dedicated his achievement to his grandfather, Mian Saleem, a local community leader.
Mr Saleem also thanked his coaches, Charlie Penn and Kamran Khalid, along with 'Tank' Jarvis and Coach K.
The WBC International Box Cup is one of the largest Olympic-style knockout tournaments in grassroots boxing, featuring more than 700 competitors.
Saleem is one of a small number of boxers from Reading-based clubs to have medalled at a UK Box Cup tournament, and the youngest in the schoolboy category.
