WWE is headed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this weekend for Crown Jewel and reports have indicated that this has naturally met with some trepidation by both employees and wrestlers who are booked for the show given the ongoing conflict in the area.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, sources from within WWE have indicated that the company is offering the crew traveling to Saudi Arabia some sort of "hazard pay" for their commitment in making the trip.
The report adds that historically, this sort of incentive has not been offered for the normal crew responsibilities for events and despite the incentive, some crew members have opted out of making the trip declining the extra compensation. WrestleVotes reported that two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed that this bonus was $3,000.
The report defined "hazard pay" as "additional pay for performing hazardous duty or work involving physical hardship and that causes extreme physical discomfort and distress which is not adequately alleviated by protective devices is deemed to impose a physical hardship."
