The Boston Celtics' winning ways were halted by the Houston Rockets on Monday evening at the Toyota Center. The C's shot just under 39 percent from the floor in Texas and the Rockets handed them a 109-93 loss, snapping Boston's five-game winning streak.

Although the Celtics were playing on the second night of a back-to-back, they had a chance at upsetting the Western Conference-leading Rockets. However, no Celtic could even reach 20 points and Boston was heavily outscored in the paint (50-34) and in transition (18-2). Celtics star Jayson Tatum recorded a team-high 19 points while Rockets center Alperen Şengün notched 26 points, missing only 3 of his 15 field goal attempts in the process.

The Celtics are now 5-2 and headed back home to face the struggling Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden. Meanwhile, the Rockets sit atop the West at 7-1 and are off to their best start through eight games in over a decade.
