Liverpool have been handed a boost ahead of their Premier League double-header with fierce rivals Manchester United and Everton next month after Alisson Becker was again left out of the Brazil squad.
The Reds are currently six games into a run of nine games in the space of four weeks since the expanded September/October international break, and are next in action at home to Arsenal on Sunday.
Trips to Fenerbahce and Crystal Palace follow before the final international break of the calendar year. But their schedule will show no signs of slowing up when club football resumes in November.
Liverpool’s Premier League campaign will resume against Manchester United on November 22, with a Champions League trip to Club Brugge then preceding the first Merseyside derby of the season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on November 29.
The trio of games are the start of another intense run which will see Andoni Iraola’s men play nine times in the space of 27 days, including Premier League clashes with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur and a League Cup quarter-final against AFC Bournemouth.
Fortunately for the Reds, Alisson will again be spared international duty ahead of such a schedule after previously being omitted by Carlo Ancelotti for the expanded September/October break.
Brazil will travel to Singapore for friendlies against Japan on November 14 and Singapore on November 17 in Kallang, but the Liverpool goalkeeper has not been called upon to make the 13,660 miles round-trip from Merseyside.
Despite again leaving out the shot-stopper, Ancelotti has insisted that Alisson remains his first-choice goalkeeper as he explained his reasoning behind the 34-year-old’s omission.
“We don’t need to test Alisson, we know him very well,” he said. “He is the best goalkeeper.
“When the Copa America begins, he will be called up, and it’s the same for the others [experienced players].
“Right now, it’s time to observe, refresh the squad, and help young players reach their full potential.”

Alisson, who boasts 83 international caps to his name, was an ever-present for Brazil at the 2026 World Cup as they suffered a shock round-of-16 exit to Norway.
The 34-year-old has been first-choice for the Selecao under Ancelotti when fit following the Italian’s appointment in May 2025, and has been number one for his country for the majority of his international career.
Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhaes, Douglas Santos, Bruno Guimaraes, Danilo Santos, Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Endrick and Rayan were the only survivors from Ancelotti’s 26-man squad that competed at the World Cup, as the former Everton boss named nine uncapped players in his latest camp.
Also selecting 10 players who play their club football in Brazil, he made wholesale changes in the goalkeeping department as Hugo Souza, Pedro Morisco and Otavio - who had at the time just one solitary cap between them - were called up at the expense of Alisson, Ederson and Weverton.
Ancelotti has now called up another two more new goalkeepers alongside Pedro Morisco, with Bento and Lucas Perri getting the nod in his latest squad.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Magalhaes, Douglas Santos, Bruno Guimaraes, Danilo Santos, Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Endrick and Rayan are again the only survivors from Brazil’s 26-man World Cup squad, with Marquinhos also making way, as Ancelotti this time called up six uncapped players and six players who play their club football in Brazil.
Alisson’s ongoing international absence is certainly a boost for Liverpool, given the Brazilian has suffered a number of muscle injuries in recent years.
An ever-present in the Premier League and Champions League so far this season, making 11 appearances, he will now be afforded a two-week rest next month ahead of the Reds’ return to club action against Manchester United.
