Several Premier League teams have picked up fresh injury concerns, including Arsenal, as domestic actions returns following midweek European excursions.

European football has come and gone for another week and the Premier League is back, but several teams will be without their top stars. Bukayo Saka's injury in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League has rocked the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta providing an update on the England winger's condition ahead of their game against Everton.

Liverpool are also without one of their star men for high-flying Brighton's visit to Merseyside, while Erling Haaland has been a doubt after picking up an issue against Ipswich. He also missed Tuesday's 5-1 win over AEK Athens. Here, Express Sport has taken a look at every single club in action this week and what their injury situation looks like...

Arsenal fear that Bukayo Saka could spend up to two months on the sidelines after a quad injury he picked up against Bayern. That's according to the BBC, who claim that Saka could miss multiple big games. Mikel Arteta confirmed that he would undergo an MRI scan on Friday.

Martin Zubimendi has recovered from an injury suffered in a warm-down, while Arteta said "let's see" on Piero Hincapie. Meanwhile, Christopher Tzolis could be back in the squad. William Saliba remains a long-term absentee.

Unai Emery will make a late decision on Johan Manzambi for the visit of Manchester City. He did confirm that Amadou Onana, Matteo Ruggeri and Aaron Wan-Bissaka would continue to be absent.

Asked about Manzambi, Emery added: "It is not a big injury, but in case he doesn't feel 100 per cent comfortable, training firstly... The plan is, can you run? Can you touch the ball? This is the process."

Marco Rose confirmed that Junior Kroupi is in contention to feature for the first time this season when they travel to Manchester United. However, Alex Toth will be out "for some weeks" with a hamstring injury. Alex Scott is expected to return in November.

Defender Jannik Schuster has returned to training after missing Brentford's last match against Liverpool. Keith Andrews reported no fresh injury concerns and is encouraged by the progress of Nathan Collins and Mathis Jensen. Both Vitaly Janelt and Yehor Yarmolyuk are suspended to face Hull on Saturday.

Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh is closing in on a first appearance of the season against Liverpool, a club he was linked with in the summer. Fabian Hurzeler claimed that the Gambian is "close" while Mats Wieffer similarly could return. Brighton are worried about Pascal Struijk's thigh injury which "could get worse" so "wise" decisions will be taken.

Xabi Alonso confirmed that Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez had undergone successful surgery on a fractured jaw he suffered against Everton, which hospitalised the Argentine. He is expected to be out for "a few weeks".

Alvaro Arbeloa confirmed that he has a fully fit squad to face Coventry. That indicates Emile Smith Rowe and Hugo Larsson are fit again. Ryan Sessegnon is suspended, however.

Nobel Mendy

Hull will be without the influential Nobel Mendy for Sunday's meeting with Brentford, but are boosted by the returns of Lucas Gourna-Douath and winger Mohamed-Ali Cho. Robinho Vaz will also be in the squad after being on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Ryan Sessegnon. Jack Butland is also ahead of schedule and will be back in training next week.

Sasa Lukic
Ipswich (Image: Getty)

Ipswich midfielder Sasa Lukic will miss Friday night's match with Nottingham Forest due to a groin problem. "He's not going to make it," Gary O'Neil said on Thursday. "Sasa will be out tomorrow. It's taken a little bit longer. But missing out this weekend is to almost guarantee that he's back on the grass really early next week." The rest of the squad named against Manchester City last time out came through the match unscathed.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin running.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a doubt to face Sunderland after an ankle knock he picked up against Manchester United. Daniel Farke confirmed that the striker "is struggling with a bruise on his foot". Anton Stach and Noah Okafor are doubts too, though Daniel James is in contention.

Dominik Szoboszlai will miss Liverpool's match with Brighton this weekend, though Bradley Barcola is available despite missing training this week. The mixed news continues, however, as Victor Munoz is a major doubt.

"He [Barcola] is fine, no problem, a matter of dealing with the load, stay inside, but he's fine," Andoni Iraola said. "Victor, he has a knock, he could finish the game against Brentford, but he's dealing with some pain, since then, it's too early against Villarreal, I think it'll be difficult, but I don't know. Dom is going to be out this weekend, I don't think he's far, but he hasn't trained with the group, the way we start the team, he had to go out."
