The announcement was made on Thursday during a media briefing at the city's Castello Sforzesco. Slated to open in time for the 2031-32 campaign, the new venue will feature an elevated bowl structure set upon a podium, enclosed within a hexagonal facade.

Built adjacent to the existing stadium, the ground will accommodate around 71,500 spectators. The build serves as the centrepiece of an ambitious urban regeneration scheme spearheaded by Inter and Milan, underpinned by roughly €1.2 billion in private investment to modernise the district.

The blueprint outlines constructing the new arena while repurposing sections of the existing site for alternative uses, heralding a massive transformation for one of Italian football's most iconic grounds.

Construction is scheduled to get underway in 2027 and conclude in 2031, ensuring the ground is fully operational ahead of Euro 2032, which Italy will co-host alongside Turkey.
