Professional boxer Edgar Berlanga is facing a felony aggravated battery charge following his arrest Monday in Polk County, Florida.

According to court records, Berlanga, 29, appeared in the Bartow Courthouse on Tuesday, and his bond was set at $16,000. He also faces a charge of misdemeanor battery. His next court appearance is an arraignment hearing Nov. 17.

Both charges stem from an alleged incident Oct. 18. No further details have been released. The felony aggravated battery charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
