DANIEL DUBOIS is eying a return to the ring in January 2027, his promoter Frank Warren revealed.
The WBO champion has enjoyed an excellent year in the ring defeating Fabio Wardley twice.
In the first fight, Dubois was the challenger and the two gladiators shared 11 gruelling rounds before he eventually stopped Wardley.
Dubois then successfully defended his WBO strap in the much-anticipated rematch at the O2 Arena in October, just five short months later.
It was very much Dynamite by name, Dynamite by nature as Dubois emphatically stopped Wardley inside two rounds.
Now Dubois has his eyes set on fighting the best and unifying the division against the likes of IBF champ Filip Hrgovic and Agit Kabayel, who has the WBC title.
And the winner of the well overdue fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury – who challenge for the vacant WBA title on December 11 – is also an option.
Warren teased the potential of some mouthwatering fights involving Dubois when he told SunSport: “Well look, at the moment he’s on fire isn’t he?
“If he can maintain that which I believe he can, there are going to be some fabulous fights next year.”
Dubois was back in Warren’s office just a short week after making light work of warrior Wardley.
But he ruled out an immediate unification with Kabayel – who defends his WBC belt against Albanian Nelson Hysa on November 28.
Warren said: “We’ve had a meeting and we’re working on it now.
“They won’t have enough time. These fighters, they would need a camp at least.
“He’d need a break and he’d need a camp. And Daniel wants to be out in January.”
