Anthony Edwards is a big miss for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he still seems to be doing everything he can to help the team.
The 25-year-old has had a lingering knee issue for a while, and the Wolves decided this week to address it through an arthroscopic procedure.
The surgery was a successful one, and immediately afterwards, Edwards was on his phone to record a video for his teammates, especially Jaden McDaniels.
Every player on the Minnesota Timberwolves roster has to step up following Edwards’ injury.
Everyone’s focus will be on LaMelo Ball to guide them to victories, but the others need to play their part too, including McDaniels.
The 26-year-old has had a decent start to the season, averaging 17 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, but his teammates believe he is capable of so much more.
After the Wolves’ win against the Clippers in the NBA Cup, Bones Hyland had his say on McDaniels and also revealed how Edwards motivated him to step up in a video message.

He said, as per Sneaker Reporter on X: “Jaden, man, I don’t think he understands how great he can be as a player. He can do everything. We always preach to Jaden, like, ‘start with you!’
“Ant sent a video to the chat yesterday, a two-minute video, just talking to us and getting us going, telling Jaden to step up more, be a leader and be the voice of the team, after a successful surgery.”
Edwards is right, and his message is clear. McDaniels is not the Ant-Man, and he may never reach that level. But he is a magnificent player himself and is more than capable of stepping up and doing more for the team.
The Wolves need to stay in the game until Edwards is back, and for that, they need McDaniels to contribute along with LaMelo and the rest.
