Charlotte Flair has taken to social media to issue an update on her father, Ric Flair, after the WWE legend was hospitalised after collapsing on Friday.
Ric Flair, 77, whose real name is Richard Morgan Fliehr, was rushed to hospital after cutting his head and eye open during a fall after he left a restaurant in Florida on Friday afternoon.
Ric is one of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling, having been involved in the sport for over 50 years. Currently, he is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in an ambassador role, in which he makes special appearances.
During what was an illustrious career, Ric won numerous world titles and is also a member of the NWA Hall of Fame, the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame.
Following his recent trip to the hospital, Ric’s daughter, Charlotte, who is also a WWE star, delivered an update on social media.
Charlotte, 40, has revealed that her father was joking with the doctor following his fall while assuring fans that her father will be fine.
She wrote: “Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of [the Ultimate] Warrior dropping him on his head …(Ps: he’s going to be ok).”
Flair's joke referred to a 1993 incident in which the late Superstar injured him during a match.
A suplex from Warrior caused Flair to land on his head, dislodging an inner-ear chip that severely affected Ric's balance and equilibrium for months.
Prior to his fall, Ric himself recently took to social media and issued an apology for having to cancel a scheduled appearance at the Washington State Horror Con. Flair revealed that he was unable to attend as he is currently dealing with a blood clot in his leg.
It is unknown if the blood clot issue was related to his fall.
