Liverpool could be without six players as it takes on Brighton in the Premier League this weekend, with Andoni Iraola set to offer another update in his pre-match press conference.
Iraola will speak to the media at 1.30 pm (UK time) on Friday, with the latest on the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz awaited. Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley are long-term absentees.
Szoboszlai was taken off in the first half at Brentford last weekend, having been brought back into the starting XI too quickly. While he is not expected to be out for too long, the Hungarian should not be rushed.
Liverpool has Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Trey Nyoni to play central midfield while he is out, with the trio likely to be involved in another busy week coming up.
After facing Brighton on Sunday, Liverpool then faces Chelsea midweek in the Carabao Cup and then hosts Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League.
Jeremie Frimpong also limped off against Brentford. Iraola has already confirmed that he will be out until the November international break, which follows next month's trip to Crystal Palace.
"Jeremie is obviously a new muscle injury, and it happened, I think, in the second or third minute that he was playing," Iraola explained.
"It is difficult to predict (when he will return). We will have to wait until he recovers, but it's going to be difficult, I think, before the break — we will try."
Giovanni Leoni, the center-back who has been out for more than a year, is also aiming for the next set of international fixtures to make a return to Liverpool training.
"It’s taking more time than we wanted," Iraola said recently. "The plan was to train with the team in this past international break [but] probably it’s going to be in the next [one], so we’ve lost one month in the process.
Get Liverpool's new 2026/27 home kit
Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
"He has to be very confident; the rehab process has to be very careful with him, and we want to make sure once he comes to the team, he stays in a good place."
Munoz was in the wars against Brentford and missed the visit of Villarreal in the Champions League. He wasn't spotted in training earlier this week, though Iraola is yet to provide a diagnosis.
