Manchester City host Brighton in the Carabao Cup fourth round tonight with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs

Early team news

This was always going to be a tie that Maresca would make changes for and the City boss confirmed in his press conference on Tuesday that he has given five senior stars three days off following the weekend defeat to Villa, meaning that quintet will be absent tonight.

Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias, Elliot Anderson, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Josko Gvardiol are the five who won’t feature as they rest and recover.

That means Geronimo Rulli will start in goal while the likes of Rico Lewis, Floyd Samba, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Allan will be hoping for minutes.
