Kimi Antonelli may now be a global superstar as the youngest ever F1 world champion, but that's not stopping his caring mother still giving him pocket money!
At just 20-years-old the Italian's third place at the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday saw him achieve his life-long dream in just his second season in the sport.
Italy has gone wild over their first world champion in 73 years, to the point that even Ferrari are losing fans to Mercedes just because of Antonelli.
But to his mother Veronica, he is still first and foremost her son and to remind him of it still keeps giving him his weekly allowance according to Il Giornale.
In fact, she still refers to one of the best drivers in the world adorably as her 'little mouse.'
Antonelli of course does not need the money, given he earns £3million a year at Mercedes, which ironically compared to other drivers of his class is basically the F1 equivalent of pocket money.
However, the bonuses triggered by his championship win are set to give him around $12million (£9m) which means the pizzas are on him when he gets back home.
The most remarkable aspect, to which his parents deserve full credit, is the humility in which they have raised in Antonelli.
The money he earns now has already been put aside for the future rather than spent on loads of lavish purchases, and he remains humble and grounded.
For instance, he still visits bars to watch sport with his friends, goes to supermarkets and cinemas, and enjoys cleaning his cars by going to a commercial car wash.
We wait to see how the championship win affects that, but the point is he is still just like any normal human. You only had to see Sky Sports F1's Natalie Pinkham burst into tears when reacting to Antonelli's win to realise just how popular he is.
His Mercedes boss Toto Wolff went further, claiming him to be the model for all future F1 drivers, saying: "This notion of win at all costs, selfish, opportunistic, ruthless for your own benefit, that model of racing driver has died.
"We have a new champion that represents values: humility, integrity, loyalty, respect. Being himself. He should be a role model for many other young drivers.
“He should be a role model for the few entitled ones in Formula One. The endless moaners on the radio.
"The ones that complain, the ones that crash. Look at this kid of 20 years and then think what you can do in order to improve. That’s the message to these kids."
