WWE has made another last-minute change to its plans for the October 26 episode of RAW. The company has now clarified the status of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship match between Raquel Rodriguez and IYO SKY.

The change comes ahead of RAW in Fresno, California. WWE has also adjusted its plans for the Women’s World Championship after a medical update involving Stephanie Vaquer.

WWE changes Raquel Rodriguez vs. IYO SKY title match ahead of RAW

Before tonight’s RAW, WWE’s official website listed a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match between Rodriguez and SKY. The announcement suggested that Rodriguez would defend her title against the former Women’s Champion, who has been feuding with The Judgment Day.

The earlier announcement read:

“Raquel Rodriguez will defend the Women’s Intercontinental Title against IYO SKY. The Genius of the Sky has been a thorn in the side of The Judgment Day for months as she’s gone after not only Rodriguez but Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan too. Could SKY add to her already incredible resume with an Intercontinental Title win? Find out tonight to 8 ET/5 PT on Netflix.”

However, WWE later updated the listing on its website, confirming that the two stars would meet in a non-title match instead.

The revised announcement reads:

“Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez will battle IYO SKY in non-title match. The Genius of the Sky has been a thorn in the side of The Judgment Day for months as she’s gone after not only Rodriguez but Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan too. Don’t miss all the action on Raw, tonight to 8 ET/5 PT on Netflix.”

WWE did not provide a public explanation for the decision.

With the title no longer at stake, SKY will need to beat Rodriguez without getting an immediate chance to win the championship. WWE has yet to announce when she could attain another title opportunity.
