And just like that, the Denver Broncos (6-2) are now the No. 2 seed in the AFC's playoff race.
After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs (5-2) on Sunday, the Broncos jumped from fifth to second in the AFC playoff picture. The Buffalo Bills (6-1) are the top seed with one fewer loss than Denver. The Broncos, meanwhile, hold a tiebreaker edge over the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) with a better conference record.
The Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) are currently the fourth seed, and the Chiefs dropped to fifth on Sunday. Here's a look at the AFC's full playoff picture following Week 8.
Buffalo Bills: 6-1
Pittsburgh Steelers: 6-2
Jacksonville Jaguars: 5-2
Kansas City Chiefs: 5-2
New England Patriots: 5-3
Just outside the Wild Card spots and still in the hunt are the Cleveland Browns (5-3) and Las Vegas Raiders (4-4). After losing quarterback Lamar Jackson to injured reserve with a thumb injury, the Baltimore Ravens (4-4) will face an up-hill battle to stay in the playoff hunt down the stretch.
Up next for Denver is a road game against the NFC's Carolina Panthers (3-4) in Week 9. After that, the Broncos will have a bye in Week 10.
