Another home game beckons.
This Saturday, the Hatters go head-to-head with another Premier League fallen giant, Leicester City.
Like ourselves, the Foxes inexplicably plunged from the Premier League to the EFL League One in successive seasons.
But what made their fall so startling was that it happened not long after they had won the Premier League and the FA Cup, in 2016 and 2021 respectively.
For Luton Town, this game is the second of three consecutive home games with, after this game, the Hatters will be welcoming Doncaster Rovers to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday evening.
Earlier this week, the Hatters saw off the challenge presented by Barnsley, beating them 2-1, at Kenilworth Road.
The game, against Leicester City, also gives Luton Town the opportunity to complete a rare occurrence, this season, back-to-back wins.
However, the form book shows that the Hatters may have to raise their game.
In their last 6 games, the Hatters have earned 7 points out of the last 18 available, courtesy of a run of results that reads – DLLWLW.
As for Leicester City, they have fared better grabbing 10 points out of the 18 available with a run of results that reads – LWDLWW.
Our opponents also sit 3 places above Luton Town in the EFL League One table.
But how does our readership believe this fixture will turn out?
Well, it would seem that the confidence of the home support is dipping with 41% of those that voted predicting Leicester City will win, thereby denying the Hatters the chance to notch up back-to-back wins.
However, a further 37% are not so gloomy, being of the opinion the Hatters will win, whereas the remaining 22% reckon it will end all square.
As for me, I’m going for a 1-1 draw.
But how about you, how do you see this game ending?
