The Indianapolis Colts appear to be sellers as the NFL trade deadline nears. The team isn't only shopping star running back Jonathan Taylor, but it also seems to be drawing plenty of interest in QB Daniel Jones, according to a source at NFL Network and ESPN.
According to sources, the Colts have received multiple calls on Jones and are willing to listen to the right offer. The Baltimore Ravens reportedly had interest in Jones but instead chose to sign Jacoby Brissett away from the Arizona Cardinals.
The Colts wanted to wait until the deadline to entertain offers, but the team reportedly has not decided whether to move him.
To reduce financial risk, the Colts are gathering all offers to acquire as much draft capital as possible. Jones has a $10.51 million injury guarantee for the 2027 season that becomes fully guaranteed on March 15 should he remain on the Colts' roster. If the Colts are eliminated from playoff contention, Indianapolis might not want to expose Jones to any injury and risk that $10.51 million guarantee, and a benching could come into play.
If Jones wanted to play for another franchise, he could waive the $10.5 million injury guarantee. With injuries mounting in the NFL, a team may come out of the woodwork after Week 9, desperately needing a quarterback, as the Ravens did when Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley went down. This would sweeten the deal for the Colts if they choose to move on from Jones and receive the draft capital.
