It was tough sledding for the Charlotte Hornets once again Friday night, as they struggled to convert on plenty of 3-point attempts. Charlotte could never find an answer for the Celtics either, as Boston was scorching hot from beyond the arc. In their second-lowest scoring performance of the season, Charlotte fell 119-80 for their sixth consecutive loss after trailing for 99% of the contest. Worst of all, Brandon Miller was forced to leave the contest with a groin injury.
The Hornets shot 22% from 3-point range, converting on 11 of their 50 attempts. It wasn't much better from the field either, as the home team shot 29%. Boston, on the other hand, finished with 24 made 3-pointers on 55% shooting from deep. Jayson Tatum was the only scorer to finish with 20 or more points. He tallied a game-high 34 points in 29 minutes, even getting MVP chants from the crowd while on the road. Naz Reid (14 points), Tidjane Salaun (13 points) and Sion James (11 points) were Charlotte's only players in double figures. Charlotte will have Sunday off before hosting their next matchup Monday against the 5-4 Cavaliers.
