George Spencer, who works in forestry and estate management, will compete at the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Championship in Stuttgart, Germany later this month as part of the British squad.
He earned his place on the six-strong team after finishing second in the national competition, the British Pro Championship.
Mr Spencer said: "It's always a privilege to represent Great Britain, especially at a competition of this level.
"We've got a strong team and plenty of experience between us, so hopefully we can put in another good performance and build on what we achieved last year."
No stranger to international competition, Mr Spencer has taken part in five British Pro Championships and has already represented Great Britain at two previous World Championships.
He also holds the national Hot Saw record, completing the event in just 7.24 seconds.
The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Championship is a major event in the global wood-chopping calendar, bringing together top athletes from 18 nations.
The Team World Championship takes place on Friday, October 30.
Each country fields a four-person team to compete in a relay across four disciplines: Stock Saw, Underhand Chop, Single Buck, and Standing Block Chop.
Last year, the British team finished seventh and set a new national record.
Mr Spencer will compete alongside teammates Glen Penlington, Rowan Luxton, Jack Morris, Graham Turner, and Tom Redmond.
