Scotland's Jenna Clark sends good luck message to Pars women

Jenna Clark, who plays alongside city-born, and lifelong Pars fan, Caroline Weir, in the national side, has sent a message of good luck to the team ahead of Sunday's game with Westdyke Ladies.

It will be a third time that the women's side have played at the stadium, and the first time in three years, since an 8-5 win over Linlithgow Rose.

Clark, who stars for Liverpool in the WSL (Women's Super League), whom she joined in 2023 from Glasgow City, played at East End for Scotland in a 4-3 friendly loss to Switzerland a year ago.

"I heard you guys have a massive game coming up this weekend," the defender said in her video message.

"It's such a big opportunity for you guys, playing at the stadium.

"I just want to wish you all the best and go and enjoy it."

Team captain, Helen Templeton, is relishing the chance to walk out and showcase their talents at East End - and is hopeful there'll be a big turnout of fans to watch the Barclays Scottish Women's League One clash.

"It's a massive occasion to be able to have the privilege to play at East End Park," she said.

"Personally I've played in the game for a long time and I've kind of stadium checked off over the years. It's not one I've played at before so, personally, I'm very excited about it. All the girls will be as well.

"They've been players for a long time, some of them, some of them more than others, but I think it's every little girl's and boy's dream, isn't it, to play in the stadium with the fans and the atmosphere.

"I think it's going to be a great occasion for family, friends, partners, and I hope that that opportunity we can get a lot of people along to create the atmosphere.

"I think it's something that we're relishing.

"We can bring everything we can but, at the end of the day, it's the people that fill the seats that are going to bring the atmosphere.

"I think for us, we would ask that anyone that's free that day would come along and support us, and give the Pars ladies some support.

"But, aside from that, I don't think we'll be focusing too much on what Westdyke do. We tend to focus more on ourselves and what we can give and what we can offer.

"I guess it's down to us to produce the three points for the fans to come and enjoy, but I think we're very much on the way, and looking forward to that."

Panos Krystallis, the team's head coach, commented: "It's a real privilege for all the staff and players to get the opportunity to go and play at the big stadium of our club, so, we're really looking forward to it, and we're going to be hopefully well prepared for it.

"I think it will be a really exciting opportunity because I've always said to the girls that, when we have a big pitch in our hands, we are always very dangerous.

"Definitely on a big pitch here, I think we can do a lot of good stuff, so definitely really excited for that, and hopefully we can put it in a show for everyone who will come and see.

"No mistake, it'll be a tough game.

"Obviously, they had probably a wee bit the opposite from us. They probably had a tougher start, but they've started really to find their feet, and they find themselves in the top six at the moment.

"So, no mistake, they'll be a tough game, that we'll have to be very, very careful about, and take it very, very seriously.

"But, as we do with every game, preparation is always the same.

"I'm expecting a tough test, and expecting them to make it really tough for us."

The match on Sunday kicks off at 3.30pm, with entry set at £5 for adults, and kids going free.
