The 2026 season for the Chargers looks like a lost cause.
Nothing has gone right through the first six games, so many are predicting Los Angeles will become sellers before the trade deadline. That’s very possible if they keep losing, and if so, who would they trade?
Names like Khalil Mack, Derwin James Jr., and Quentin Johnston have been floated around. Another name that keeps coming up is Justin Herbert.
The chances of the Chargers trading Herbert are really low, but that isn’t stopping CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani from naming him as one of the five players he’d like to see get a change of scenery.
Herbert made that list, with three teams viewed as ideal fits: the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chargers have had no discussions involving a potential trade of Herbert. ESPN's Adam Schefter noted a few weeks ago that trading the 28-year-old quarterback is a "non-starter."
Los Angeles wants Herbert to remain at the center of their organization, and that remains the case despite their dreadful start this season.
The Chargers sit at 0-6, and if they keep losing, their best option might be to sell and get what they can in return.
The November 10 trade deadline is approaching fast, and while it's unclear which direction the Chargers will go, one thing is certain: Herbert will be the quarterback for the rest of the season.
