Auburn basketball tips off its regular season Wednesday night, hosting Southeastern Louisiana at Neville Arena.
According to KenPom, Auburn has a 99% chance of victory over the Lions on Wednesday night. KenPom projects a final score of 87-61 favoring Auburn.
The Tigers enter the game with a 67-game winning streak in non-conference home games. The first three games are at home, and the first two are against Southeastern Louisiana and Appalachian State, building to a big Friday night matchup with Arizona on Nov. 13.
However, Auburn will need to focus on the season opener first.
It will be a good chance to see how the Tigers use their rotations after some experimenting during the three preseason games. Auburn got the good news this week. Creighton transfer forward Owen Freeman will be available to play for the Tigers. Kevin Overton led Auburn in scoring during the exhibition season with 20.3 points per game.
The Lions had a difficult season last year, finishing 9-22. They play in the Southland Conference, and before the 2025-26 season, they had four consecutive winning seasons. This year's roster is revamped, headlined by four players transferring from Bryant University. According to Lindy's Sports, the Lions are projected to finish sixth in the Southland Conference.
Auburn is 5-0 all-time versus Southeastern Louisiana.
The Tigers and Lions open the 2026-27 season in Neville Arena at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday. SEC Network+ will stream the game live.
