Terry Bradshaw believes the Los Angeles Chargers should keep Jim Harbaugh and Mike McDaniel and look to trade away Justin Herbert.
The Chargers are 0-6 in what has been a nightmare season, with Herbert having what is by far his worst season in the league. The quarterback has thrown just five touchdowns to eight interceptions, and fans are not happy with the team as a whole.
Herbert and the Chargers' offense have taken a significant step back with McDaniel as their offensive play-caller — a move expected to be exciting for their quarterback. Meanwhile, Harbaugh has not been able to rally the team to bounce back from a disappointing loss, with pressure mounting on both coaches.
While Bradshaw has acknowledged that changes should be made at the Chargers, he stated that they should actually look to trade Hebert and keep both coaches.
One wrote, "I usually don't watch the pregame shows but I just turned on and it was on FOX. Man, Terry Bradshaw has to retire. It's over. He's stumbling so much they need to save him his dignity before it goes too far."
Another responded to the above message writing, "I think he is drunk".
While another posted, "Terry Bradshaw saying he’d keep McDaniel and get rid of Herbert. What am I hearing?"
Bradshaw has spoken on retirement while being 78 years old, stating FOX will have to fire him if he is to leave while looking to stay on as long as he can.
At the Chargers, McDaniel has been under the most pressure of the three, with Herbert seen as a generational quarterback talent — having failed to live up to that billing so far.
Some fans had been calling for McDaniel to relinquish his play-calling duties, but Harbaugh shut that down completely.
He said, "I’m just going to ask point blank, is Mike going to continue calling plays?
"We're going to look at everything; the job I'm doing starts with me. We'll watch this [game back] and get with our offensive coaches. I see the work being put in in the meetings, on the practice field, and to get that to translate to the field is what's necessary.
"I feel bad for our players, our team, our coaches, our fans. And [offense] needs to be addressed."
Should the Chargers lose to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the team may be forced into a move while at 0-7.
A Herbert trade appears unlikely, with the team almost sure to ask for at least two first-round picks to give him up.
