No one has ever been better.

Nashville SC became the MLS team to earn the most points in the regular season with a 2-0 win over FC Cincinnati on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The win took Nashville's points total to 77, three more than Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in 2024 and four more than the 2021 New England Revolution.

B.J. Callaghan's squad lost just three times this season, winning 23 matches and drawing eight.

Expectations were high for Nashville coming into the season, with the team adding winger Cristian Espinoza from the San Jose Earthquakes to a front line that already included former MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar and forward Sam Surridge.

Promising American goalkeeper Brian Schwake won the starting job at the back, and the defense allowed just 25 goals against all season as with offseason additions Maxwell Woledzi and fullback Reed Baker-Whiting teaming with center back Jeisson Palacios and right back Andy Najar to form a unit that was suffocating to attacks and also got forward well.

Nashville ran up the points record while also putting together an impressive charge in the Concacaf Champions Cup in the first half of the year. The Boys in Gold became the first MLS team to beat Club América at the famed Estadio Azteca, falling to Tigres in the semifinals of the continental championship.

They have qualified again as the winners of the Supporters' Shield but first will celebrate their points record in MLS and then turn their attention to the MLS Cup Playoffs. There, Nashville SC will look to win the state of Tennessee's first-ever championship trophy for a professional team in one of the major U.S. leagues.
