Jets sack leader Doubtful Week 8 vs Raiders

With the number one pick in this past year's draft, the Raiders selected QB Fernando Mendoza. At the number two pick, the Jets selected Texas Tech EDGE David Bailey. While Mendoza is waiting in the wings for the Raiders, Bailey has been living up to the hype.

Bailey has started all seven games for the Jets, and each week seems to come up with some big plays for their defense. But that may not happen this week when the Raiders come to town. New York head coach Aaron Glenn announced Bailey will miss Friday's practice, after missing the previous two practices, and be officially ruled Doubtful for the game. Calling the pass rusher's status a "game time decision."

That's a big loss for the Jets. Bailey leads the team in several categories including sacks (5.5), QB hits (nine), tackles for loss (seven), and forced fumbles (three).

The Jets have a top five pass defense this season and Bailey has been a big part of that with the pressure he has been putting on the quarterback.
