Providing an update on Bayern Munich's squad ahead of Wednesday's DFB-Pokal clash with 1. FC Magdeburg, Aaron Danks confirmed that Ballon d'Or winner Harry Kane will be available for selection.
Bayern Munich assistant coach Aaron Danks has confirmed that Harry Kane will be available for Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal clash with 1. FC Magdeburg after winning the Ballon d’Or on Monday night.
“I haven’t heard from him yet. I watched the ceremony, of course. It’s fantastic for him," said Danks, who spoke to the media in Vincent Kompany’s continued absence following the head coach’s collapse last week.
“He’ll be back this afternoon with the other players to train, and he’ll be available tomorrow,” added the Bayern assistant.
Providing a broader squad update, Danks confirmed that Manuel Neuer and Jamal Musiala remain unavailable for the clash with Magdeburg as they continue their recoveries from injury.
Meanwhile, it's unclear whether Kim Min-jae and Aleksandar Pavlović will be fit to return to the squad after missing Sunday’s 3-1 win over Freiburg through injury.
“It’s still a bit too early for Manuel Neuer and Jamal Musiala. The players had their treatment yesterday and we’ll have to wait and see. We still need to speak to the doctors and then see who’s available. Minjae Kim and Aleksandar Pavlović are certainly a bit closer to being fit," said Danks.
Joshua Kimmich will also miss Wednesday’s clash as he continues to take time away from football following the death of a close family member before last week’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
“He’s spending time with his family. We expect him to return this week," said Danks.
