Tom Cleverley says he will go back to basics for Plymouth Argyle's preparations for their trip to Cambridge United.
The Pilgrims' head coach has seen his side lose their past two League One games - their first back-to-back league losses since early February.
He described Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at Stevenage as "unacceptable" and has seen his side slip from the top of the third tier to fifth place.
"It's going to be the most basic preparation for a game I think I'll do because that is what's going to be the most important," he told BBC Radio Devon.
"The priority for Saturday is that we stick our chests out, we roll our sleeves up and we're there to fight, to run, to win duels, to defend our box, to attack their box.
"I'm a details kind of coach - we try and give the lads as much detail as possible to get for the one or two percents.
"But for me the biggest thing on Saturday is it'd probably be the first first time I don't name the team on a Friday, we'll see who's got the fire in their bellies and to go out there and deliver on all those fundamentals."
Cleverley's side had been in excellent form up until last week, having won five of their seven League One games since the start of September.
But he says he was unhappy with how they lost their past two matches with just one shot on target in each of those two losses.
"In the EFL you can always lose games, but there's a way to lose games as well," he added.
"The fundamentals, the controllables that we always bang on about have not been there, which is unlike us.
"We've really prided ourselves on being competitive in duels, in running, in second balls, in set pieces and those things have been a little bit below par for what we expect from ourselves.
"They'll be tested on Saturday at Cambridge, we need to make sure that they're all there and to make sure that it is just a blip and then I feel like we've got enough quality and enough character to win games from the base of being good at the controllables, the fundamentals of football.
"Whatever level you play at, they need to be there, otherwise you'll lose football games."
