Burnley player ratings vs Portsmouth as 6 and 7s handed out

Player ratings from Burnley’s goalless draw with Portsmouth

Burnley were held to a frustrating goalless draw to Portsmouth in Fabio Celestini’s first game in charge.

The Clarets were the better side for much of the game, especially during the first half, but were unable to make their dominance pay.

Celestini’s side produced 18 shots on the Pompey goal, while limiting the visitors to no shots on target, but were unable to find that all-important breakthrough.

Here’s how Burnley’s players rated:

1. Gregoire Coudert - 6/10 A little lucky to get away with Pompey’s disallowed goal, but other than a couple of small scary moments, was pretty solid. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard Photo Sales

2. Kyle Walker - 7/10 An improved display with no major defensive mistakes. Unfortunate not to receive a penalty at the other end too. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard Photo Sales

3. Hjalmar Ekdal - 7/10 Back to the Ekdal we know. Defended well in the main and remained calm throughout. No silly mishaps. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard Photo Sales

4. Igor Julio - 6/10 A couple of nervy moments aside, pretty solid and used his size and presence to good effect as Burnley kept a rare clean sheet. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard Photo Sales
