The F1 Mexican Grand Prix came to a dramatic stop on Sunday after a massive crash for Valtteri Bottas.

Max Verstappen was leading in his Red Bull from the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton when the Cadillac driver was seen deep into the barrier beyond turn one.

On lap 44 of 71, Bottas was approaching turn one after a long straight doing over 200mph, before his left front suspension exploded under braking.

This left the Finnish driver helpless as his car spun out of control and crashed heavily into the Tec-Pro barrier that thankfully absorbed much of the impact.

Bottas sat in the the car for a few moments before slowly getting out, having likely been winded from the incident.

Due to the nature of the crash, Bottas was taken to the medical centre at the track as a precaution., with the race yet to have a resumption time as the barriers continue to be fixed.
