Good news for Gian Piero Gasperini: Manu Koné is back in the squad for Roma-Sassuolo.

The Frenchman, forced to be substituted after just 17 minutes against Real Madrid, sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

Tonight – November 7 – he’ll return to the bench at the Olimpico, but he’s unlikely to be seen on the pitch except for a brief stint.

The number 17 has been sidelined for more than 20 days with a thigh flexor injury.

Yesterday’s trial, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, yielded positive results, and at the last minute the Grugliasco-based coach will also be able to count on the Frenchman against the Neroverdi. Paulo Dybala and Mile Svilar, however, will be back after the break.

Koné returns to Roma’s squad, but Gian Piero Gasperini feared that after being without him for almost a month, the number 17 would be called up to the national team, risking a relapse.

Zinedine Zidane, however, left the midfielder at home, who will train at Trigoria during the November break.

When he returns against Parma, barring any dramatic developments or bad news from the national team training camps, Gasperini should have everyone available again. Except for Lorenzo Pellegrini, who will have to wait until January.
