The new Seattle Seahawks owners have not exactly got off to the perfect start since taking over from the Allen family earlier this year.
Vinod Khosla and the Khosla family completed their takeover of the reigning Super Bowl champions ahead of the 2026 season getting underway. However, there have already been some bumps along the way for the new owners.
A number of media slip ups from Vinod has seen comments about supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers and refusing to rule out a move away from Seattle mark easy wins clearly missed by the 71-year-old. He is now coming under more scrutiny from the wider public as he advertises for a new role away from the Seahawks.
Khosla and his family recently paid a record-breaking $9.612 billion to purchase the Seahawks but his job advert for a new chief of staff and the listing has received heavy backlash.
The Seahawks have not made too strong of an impression on the field, either, with a 3-3 record coming out of Week Six. With the Khoslas not quite enjoying the best of starts as new owners, their reputation has taken another hit over recent days.
“This week, Vinod posted a job listing for his company, Khosla Ventures, which is the same company that backed OpenAI before ChatGPT was even a thing. Vinod is trying to hire a chief of staff with a minimum of a three-year commitment, and the person must live in Menlo Park, California. This job seems rigorous, to say the least. You’ll be working from 8 am to 8 pm, so 12-hour days. You must be available on nights, and you also must be available on weekends,” said Front Office Sports.

“The recruiter’s post said that if you need predictable hours, a defined playbook, or frequent direction, this is not for you. The one thing that is not listed about this job is a salary. This post has LinkedIn in shambles because one side is calling this job basically indentured servitude, where you’re going to burn out in 2 months. The other side is saying this is actually more like an apprenticeship because his past chiefs of staff have just gone on to found companies. This person seems to think that the job description is all you need to know about how you will be treated.”

One way Khosla could help improve his reputation in Seattle would be to back a blockbuster trade for the Seahawks. There has been some speculation that the Seahawks could be one of the teams to consider Jonathan Taylor if he was to become available.
There is clearly something not quite right about the Seahawks this year, as they do not appear as focused or complete on the offensive side of the ball. Khosla could help his relationship with the fans by supporting the likes of John Schneider with a big trade.
