Absolutely decimated by injuries to start the 2026-27 regular season, the Oklahoma City Thunder have reached for outside help. They've made a couple of shrewd roster moves in recent weeks to fortify their depth. One has already paid dividends. The other hopes to do the same once they catch up to speed.

The Thunder added Micah Peavy to a two-way roster spot. They waived Otega Oweh — who sustained a torn Achilles tendon in preseason — in a corresponding move. He spent last year with the New Orleans Pelicans. He was a 2025 NBA draft second-round pick.

Recently, they also added Dalen Terry. He takes OKC's final standard roster spot after it was left vacant. Before he joined OKC, the Thunder had a brief pairing with Ochai Agbaji. But they backed out of signing him over this past week. Instead, Terry takes the final spot on a two-year deal. He's spent the last four seasons with the Chicago Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers. He was a 2022 NBA draft first-round pick

The Thunder hope they can Frankenstein together a decent-enough group of point-of-attack defenders. Now that Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace are out for the foreseeable future. Peavy and Terry represent some quick fixes.

Here's what Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault had to say about both recent additions:

Micah Peavy

"He seems like a tough guy. He’s the son of a high school coach down here in Texas. He’s got an athleticism and a size and strength to him that’s impressive. But I also think he has a sense of how to play his game within the game. He knows who he is. He knows what he does well. He plays into those strengths."

Dalen Terry

"He’s someone our front office has liked for a long time. Back when he was draft-eligible, he came in for a draft workout. He's someone that's been on their radar for a long time. I like, obviously, the physical profile. He's got great wing size, strength, athleticism. He plays hard. Running motor on the defensive end of the floor. He's a great transition player. He's a great crasher on the offensive glass. He kinda checks the boxes on activity, with athleticism and a motor. He also has enough of a body of work that there's things he needs to improve on that we can identify right off the bat."
