Liverpool vs Arsenal: TV channel, how to watch in UK, kick-off time, live stream, team news, referee, predicted line-ups

Premier League champions Arsenal resume their title defence with a trip to Anfield this weekend, when they take on Liverpool on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta's side suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of League Two side Fleetwood Town and were thus knocked out of the Carabao Cup in midweek action.

They did win in the league last time out, with a 2-0 victory over Everton.

Liverpool needed penalties to get past Chelsea and thus reach the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup, which was preceded by a 2-0 win at home to Brighton in the league as Andoni Iraola's side gathers momentum.

Arsenal are winless in their last 13 league visits to Anfield, with their last victory coming in September 2012.

Talking Points

Liverpool have a chance to ignite their title ambitions

Andoni Iraola's men are on a five-match unbeaten run, with just one loss in their last 13 matches in all competitions -- but what will please Liverpool fans is their frontline finding form.

The club have scored fifteen goals in their last five games, with Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola all amongst the goals, and signs of new combinations slotting into place.

Arne Slot's Liverpool were the only side to blunt Arsenal last season across both games, but Iraola is likely to not opt for a conservative approach, given Arsenal's injury troubles and their vulnerabilities in transition.

Roared on by Anfield, a win would take Liverpool to within three points of Arsenal, and could genuinely announce themselves as possible title contenders.

Will injuries derail Arsenal's prospects?

Ogden: Arsenal's Carabao Cup exit to Fleetwood Town is 'embarrassing'

While the fourth round exit to Fleetwood Town was embarrassing, the Carabao Cup was not high up on Arsenal's priorities this season. Yet, there were worrying signs of bad habits returning, with a familiar foe in injuries making its presence felt as well.

Max Dowman's suspension has given Arteta a real headache on the wings, as all his other wide options are injured (Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, Christos Tzolis). Eberechi Eze can do a good enough job on the left, but Arteta might have to rely on the versatile Mikel Merino, Kai Havertz or even one of his full-backs.

No matter what side he puts out, the real concern for Arteta will be the profligacy in front of goal that was on display against Fleetwood, with Havertz the chief culprit, while Viktor Gyökeres did not exactly cover himself in glory -- despite finding the net.

Chances will be at a premium in Anfield, and should Arsenal be wasteful in front of goal again, their winless run at the ground will continue.
