Former Vol quarterback will start for Eagles in NFL Week 9

Philadelphia (2-6) will host the Giants (4-2-1) on Nov. 8 in Week 9 of the NFL season. Kickoff between the Eagles and New York is slated for 1 pm. EST at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Former Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III will start for the Eagles, according to Adam Schefter and Mike Garafolo of ESPN.

"A quarterback change in Philadelphia: the Eagles are naming Joe Milton their starting quarterback and benching Tanner McKee for Sunday’s game versus the Giants, per Mike Garafolo and me," Schefter announced on Wednesday.

The Eagles signed Milton III from Dallas' practice squad in Week 6. The former Vol was waived by the Cowboys after the NFL preseason. He was signed to Dallas' practice squad on Sept. 3.

Milton III played at Tennessee from 2021-23 and appeared in 29 games. He was selected No. 193 overall by New England in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft. Milton III was traded to Dallas for a fifth-round draft pick.
