The Japanese forward limped off at West Brom with an ankle issue with initial concern there could be damage after twisting it.
Tony Mowbray was unable to provide clarity on the severity of Mori's injury, with an appointment booked in to find out more on Friday.
There were hints that he believed it wouldn't be majorly serious but he was clear it was guesswork.
"I don't have a lot of news," Mowbray said.
"He has a meeting scheduled with the consultant tomorrow. We are waiting for a specialist.
"I'll know more at tea-time tomorrow night (Friday). I would have to say it is pretty unlikely he will be ready for this weekend.
"Maybe they say it's nothing specific and he'll be ok but I am not anticipating that. I'll hopefully no more soon rather than just guessing but he hasn't trained this week."
"He is a wonderful human being, team-mate," Mowbray added.
"Would I go as far to say he's a beautiful human being? He's smiling every day, shakes everyone's hand.
"Always happy about life and about his football and if he's got questions, he'll ask what his job is and what's expected of him.
"Yeah, if he's not available this weekend, he'd be a big loss and hopefully if it's not this weekend, he won't be too much longer."

Adam Forshaw is set to be out for an extended period, with hip surgery due at the start of November.
Mowbray has not given an exact time frame of when he'll return but it won't be short-term.
"November 2nd, I think, so it's coming up, it'll be a considerable amount of time," he explained.
"Again, I don't want to guess on a timescale, but for the foreseeable future, Adam won't be around the team.
"We wish him well with his recovery and hopefully we'll see him before the end of the season."
In better news, Yuri Ribeiro and Yuki Ohashi are back in some parts of training.
Wrexham will likely come too soon for them but they're in contention to be part of the travelling squad for Swansea City.

"They're both pretty close," Mowbray said.
"I'm not sure he'll be quite ready this weekend, but I do think maybe Swansea they could be around on the bench, which is nine days away.
"They're getting there, they're out on the grass. They've been in parts of training but not all of the training.
"We will try and integrate the lads back into the group and hopefully we don't need them straight away because the team is winning and the team is functioning."
