Pakistan unveil Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy squad

Pakistan have named a 14-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026.

Wicket-keeper-batter Muneeba Ali will captain the side, having previously skippered Pakistan in four T20Is and an ODI.

Muneeba is taking charge of the team in the absence of Fatima Sana, who will be unavailable owing to her commitments for a maiden season in Australia’s domestic Big Bash League.

Meanwhile, Ayesha Zafar has been named the vice-captain. Other names that make up the batting group are Eman Naseer, Eyman Fatima, Sadaf Shamas, Saira Jabeen, Shawaal Zulfiqar and Gull Feroza.

Feroza, who was named the best wicket-keeper-batter in the recent National Women’s T20 Tournament in Pakistan, adds another option for the team behind the stumps.

Meanwhile, the bowling attack will be led by Nashra Sundhu, who will be accompanied by Momina Riasat, Tuba Hassan and Umm-e-Hani forming the spin bowling quartet.

In the pace department, Tasmia Rubab and Waheeda Akhtar are the frontline fast bowlers. Pakistan's women's side sealed a bronze medal at the recently concluded Asian Games.

The Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy saw Thailand emerge as winners in 2025.

With eight teams having featured in the previous edition, the tournament will now see a total of 10 sides compete this year.

Pakistan squad: Muneeba Ali (c), Ayesha Zafar (vc), Eman Naseer, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Momina Riasat, Nashra Sundhu, Sadaf Shamas, Saira Jabeen, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Tasmia Rubab, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, Waheeda Akhtar
