Former Notre Dame star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson has had quite the NFL career, being named to the Pro-Bowl eight-times, a first-team All-Pro three times, and second-team three times.
It’s a laundry list of accolades for the No. 6 overall pick of the 2018 NFL draft, as Nelson has only known Indiana as his football home since high school. On Tuesday that changed, as the star was shipped from the Indianapolis Colts to the Seattle Seahawks for a third-round pick in 2027 and a fifth-rounder in 2028 according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
That seems like a small price to pay for a player most likely headed to the Hall of Fame, but you have to remember that Nelson will be a free agent after this season. At age 30, he should command a fairly sizable contract, and it could be the final one of his career.
Nelson now joins last year’s Super Bowl winning team, but have struggled to capture the same magic this season with a 4-3 record. The hope is that by adding the Pro Bowler, the Seahawks run game will be more explosive, and also when former Irish running back Jadarian Price returns from his chest injury.
