Before their Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots, the Miami Dolphins released defensive end Robert Beal Jr. to open up a spot on their 53-man roster for Jamree Kromah.
Now, just days later, Beal has found a new home, as he's signed with the San Francisco 49ers practice squad.
Beal, 27, returns to San Francisco, where he spent the first three years of his career before joining the Dolphins this offseason. This season, he recorded just one tackle in two games before suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out for four games prior to his release.
The 49ers have dealt with several injuries along their defensive front this year, so Beal could come back and make an impact for a team that's leading the NFC West right now.
