Watson, who joined Saints in the off season from a similar role assisting Willie Peters at Hull KR, came in following the departures of Lee Briers and Eamon O’Carroll.
The former Salford and Huddersfield head coach will take charge of training until new boss Kevin Walters arrives once his World Cup duties with Australia are concluded in the coming fortnight.
The senior members of the squad return to the training ground on Monday, November 9 to prepare for the 2027 Super League campaign that has yet to be finalised.
It is anticipated that the Super League will be expanded to 15 teams with an invitation thrown out to runaway Championship winners London Broncos.
As of yet those details have not been officially confirmed, nor has the number of fixtures or start date for Super League or the Challenge Cup entry stages.
The dates that we do know for certain are that the 2027 Super League Grand Final will take place at Old Trafford on 2 October, the Challenge Cup Final will be staged at Wembley on Saturday, 5 June and Magic Weekend takes place at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 1/2 May.
The only fixture date Saints have set in stone so far is the 'home' game against Hull FC which will take place at Leinster rugby union's Laya Arena in Dublin on Sunday, 25 April.
