4 former Iowa football players who stood out in Week 8 of NFL season

Week 8 of the NFL season saw several former Iowa football players making an impact.

Whether it was recording a key touchdown, making the most of an opportunity after a practice squad call-up, or making tackles and recording sacks to help their teams win, here are four former Hawkeyes who stood out in Week 8 of the NFL season.

T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings

Hockenson found his way into the end zone again during Minnesota's 19-15 loss to the Detroit Lions. Hockenson recorded four catches for 58 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for the Vikings to briefly regain the lead.

Geno Stone, Buffalo Bills

Stone made an immediate impact in his debut with the Bills after being pulled up from the practice squad in a 36-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

The 2020 seventh-round pick made six tackles and broke up a pass. He played for the Hawkeyes from 2017-2019.

One key play Stone made was in the second quarter, when he tipped the ball in the air for teammate Davison Igbinosun to grab for his first career interception.

Lukas Van Ness, Green Bay Packers

Van Ness had six tackles and a sack for the Packers in a 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

He leads Green Bay in sacks this season, with 4.5 for 25 total yards lost.

Amani Hooker, Tennessee Titans

Hooker and the Titans fell in overtime to the Cincinnati Bengals, 43-36. In the loss, Hooker picked off Joe Burrow three times, which tied a franchise record, and had six tackles.

One of the picks was returned for 22 yards. This season, Hooker has five interceptions for 114 yards.
