Adam Armstrong was pleased to get back on the scoresheet for Wolves but left frustrated by their draw at Wrexham.
The striker described it as a “positive point” after Wolves missed the chance to climb to the top of the Championship.
Armstrong has now scored in three of his last four games, opening the scoring at the Racecourse Ground after latching on to Nasser Djiga’s ball over the top and volleying past the goalkeeper.
But the 29-year-old was disappointed his goal could not help secure all three points.
Reflecting on his goal, Armstrong told Sky Sports: “I have seen the space in behind, and Nasser (Djiga) had a bit of time on the ball. If I don’t make the run, I don’t get the pass.
“So, yeah, it was nice. But like (Ladislav) Krejci said, in the second half we could have punished them more. We knew how direct they were going to be today. You have seen a lot of crosses into the box. But we have to take a point and move on.”
Wolves now head into the international break, with Armstrong among the small group of players who will remain at Compton Park.
The forward welcomed the opportunity for some rest after a busy run of fixtures, but insisted Wolves must learn from both the positives and negatives of their latest performance.
He added: “It’ll be nice for some rest. It is always nice to score goals but the main goal will always be the three points at the end.
“It is a positive point, but we have to look at the positives and negatives and move forward.”
