Before Gasperini, Roma changed managers four times in just two seasons (2023-2025): Mourinho, De Rossi, Juric, and Ranieri.

The Grugliasco-born coach is restoring a stability lost due to poor decisions and questionable evaluations.

Among the managers monitored by the Giallorossi was Stefano Pioli, who later moved to Al Nassr.

The coach himself, who won a Scudetto with AC Milan in Italy before returning to Italy to coach Fiorentina after his stint in Arabia, admitted the club’s interest.

Stefano Pioli could have coached Roma. The former AC Milan coach spoke to Sky Sport about the Giallorossi’s interest: “There were times when everyone called me. Even Roma, but I had just received my contract with Al Nassr and I couldn’t break my word.”

Pioli made his debut in Saudi Arabia on September 20, 2024, and the Roman club, just two days earlier, had decided to fire Daniele De Rossi and then appoint Juric as manager.
