The Seattle Seahawks may have dominated the Kansas City Chiefs on "Sunday Night Football" to the tune of 20-3, but they did not escape the win completely clean when it came to injuries. Towards the end of the blowout victory, left tackle Charles Cross exited the game with an ankle injury and did not return. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald did not offer much information during the postgame press conference about Charles' status. Now we have a better idea of what Seattle is dealing with in regards to their franchise left tackle.
Macdonald told radio hosts Brock Huard and Mike Salk on Monday morning that Charles Cross is dealing with a high ankle sprain. NFL insider Jordan Schultz is saying Cross is considered week-to-week, while fellow insider Ian Rapoport is saying Cross is expected to miss perhaps one or two games. While we may not know the extent of time missed, I think it may be safe to assume the Seahawks will be without cross when they host the Chicago Bears on "Monday Night Football" next week.
If Cross is out, left tackle responsibilites will fall to the veteran Josh Jones, who filled in for Cross on Sunday night.
Macdonald did give an update for another injured player, wide receiver Rashid Shaheed, who also left the game early. The early signs on Shaheed's knee injury are "positive" so we at Seahawks Wire will continue to monitor the situation of his health moving forward.
