Vikings open practice window for Jordan Mason ahead of Week 7

Jordan Mason is set to return to the Minnesota Vikings' lineup after being sidelined for the past four games with a broken thumb.

This week the team announced that Mason was designated to return to practice, opening his 21-day window to return after being placed on injured reserve following the Vikings' Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

Mason fully participated in Wednesday's practice, making it likely he will return to action in Week 7, when Minnesota hosts the Indianapolis Colts. That will help ease Aaron Jones' workload after he had 97 total touches from Weeks 2 to 5.

The Vikings will face a Colts defense that ranks dead last in the NFL in EPA/run allowed. That should give Mason a chance to get back on track and keep establishing Minnesota's run-heavy approach in 2026.
