Despite the appalling conditions, Braishfield were glad that this difficult fixture went ahead after two late goals secured them three valuable points.
The wet conditions made it challenging for both teams with wind a big factor and restricting any real flowing football.
The first half was pretty even; Tom Grant went close for Braishfield whilst at the other end goalkeeper Max Green made several good saves before Upham took the lead.
The second half was again pretty even although Braishfield continued to get into the better positions without creating any clear chances.
As the game wore on, they started to dominate and deservedly equalised when Grant volleyed home.
Not content with a point, Braishfield kept pushing and won an 89th-minute penalty which Jack Harris coolly slotted home in the last minute.
In a frantic finale, Upham nearly equalised when an unmarked striker shot narrowly wide.
This win keeps Braishfield in touch with the Premier Division pacesetters.
Tomorrow afternoon they have a tough but interesting-looking fixture when they travel to title favourites Waterlooville, a rebirth of the former non-league club, who boast a huge social media following.
They are temporarily playing at AFC Portchester, and kick-off is 2pm.
The Reserves' game last week was washed out, and tomorrow they are again without a fixture, but on Sunday morning there is an old boys game at the Rec, 10.30am kick-off against Bransgore.
